Elderly residents will be able to show their grandchildren a thing or two about how to use their Wii, thanks to a generous donation from a local bikers’ group. The White Horse Wings Bikers’ Group donated £1,200 to staff and residents at Church View care home in Stratton St Margaret so they could buy a Nintendo Wii console with games and a Wii fit board.

Home manager Jo Butler said: “We have close links with the White Horse Wings, as some of staff are members but it is very kind of them to provide us which such a generous donation. “Myself, staff members and the residents decided that the best investment for the money would be a Nintendo Wii console. The Wii is a great way of stimulating both the body and mind and will encourage the residents to interact not only with each other but with members of staff and also friends and family when they come and visit.
